DESCRIPTION:A CPS-approved\, 16-week program where parents learn about the growth and development of children\, how to handle stress\, how to build their own and their children’s self-esteem\, good communication skills\, and positive discipline. For parents with children ages 0-5 years. \nThis group will engage in learning various topics that incorporate Native culture into the lessons i.e. Personal and family health\, Drug use\, Sexual health\, and safe sex practices\, Goal setting\, Child development from newborn to 3 years old\, Child abuse and neglect\, Parenting techniques\, and Children’s health including immunizations\, oral and medical care. (Participants must be SNAHC patients and/or register via member services to participate). \n* Each participant must attend an in-person parenting intake appointment to complete paperwork including consent and the pre-test. Please ARRIVE 1 hour before class to complete. \nEvery Thursday 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm.
