SNAHC RECEIVES $500,000 FROM DELTA DENTAL COMMUNITY CARE FOUNDATION TO OPEN NEW DENTAL FACILITY

Sacramento, California – October 18, 2021– The Sacramento Native American Health Center (SNAHC) received generous support from the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation for its expansion site at 3800 Florin Road in South Sacramento. The SNAHC Florin Road location (snahc.org/comingsoon) will support patients in whole person care, including medical, behavioral health, dental, and supportive services. Funding totaling $500,000 finances construction and equipment costs for the 14-operatory dental clinic within the SNAHC Florin Road location.

The mission of the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation is to build caring, resilient communities to increase access to oral health care, fund oral health education and support organizations that serve vital needs in communities. As the philanthropic arm of Delta Dental Insurance Company, the Foundation has awarded more than $60 million across 15 states and the District of Columbia since 2011.

Kenzie Ferguson, Delta Dental Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility, believes the SNAHC Florin Road expansion project aligns with the Foundation’s current priorities stating, “Delta Dental is committed to investing in a future where all Californians have access to quality oral healthcare.  South Sacramento is an area of great need and we are proud to partner with an innovative and impactful partner like SNAHC to support their efforts to address health disparities and make healthcare more equitable in the Capital region.”

The Delta Dental Community Care Foundation is a long-standing partner of SNAHC, previously also awarding the health center a grant for dental staffing and emergency care during the State of California COVID-19 shelter-in-place orders in 2020. Britta Guerrero, SNAHC CEO, adds, “We know that oral health plays a key role in determining quality of life and expanding access to comprehensive dental care has been identified as a priority for our patients and potential patients living in the South Sacramento area.  SNAHC is responsive to community need and we are demonstrating how it is possible to bring quality care into to our communities through partnership, and that is what it is all about.”

The SNAHC Florin Road location will open in 2022 and supporters of the facility will be recognized in the center’s main entrance and patient waiting area. For media inquiries regarding the SNAHC Florin Road location, please contact Jeanine Gaines, Communications Manager at jeanine.gaines@snahc.org.
