SNAHC RECEIVES $1 MILLION OF FEDERAL FUNDING SECURED BY CONGRESSWOMAN DORIS MATSUI

Sacramento, California – January 24, 2024– The Sacramento Native American Health Center (SNAHC) received $1,000,000 in federal funding for our Florin Road site thanks to Congresswoman Doris Matsui (CA-07).

“Now more than ever, it is important for patients to know they have somewhere to go for primary care, mental health care, immunizations, women’s health services, and much more. SNAHC is that trusted beacon for our Sacramento community,” said Congresswoman Matsui. “The Florin Road expansion brings SNAHC’s services right to the heart of South Sacramento – reaching folks where they are and allowing families to be proactive about their health. I’m proud to support this new chapter in the clinic’s history.”

“The Congresswoman’s commitment to health access and equity is bigger than politics, her investment in SNAHC and Sacramento’s safety net is a reflection of her priorities,” said Britta Guerrero, CEO, Sacramento Native American Health Center. “Community based systems work, and this is an example of what can happen when policies are aligned with people.”

“We are thrilled to receive Congressional funding that is appropriated for comprehensive health and community initiatives, including our SNAHC Florin Road site. said Dr. Maureen Wimsatt, Chief Program and Development Officer, Sacramento Native American Health Center. “Appropriations and Community Project Funding prioritizes local- and regional- level projects while robustly funding work so it can be completed fully and timely,”

“This is a continuation of our vision of a vibrant community built upon a strong foundation of cultures and traditions, where healthy lifestyles include the balance of mind, body, and spirit.” said Samantha Cypret, Board of Directors, Sacramento Native American Health Center.

SNAHC Florin has been open since June 2023 and is located at 3800 Florin Road in South Sacramento, adjacent to Luther Burbank High School. The approximately 35,000 square foot facility offers medical, behavioral health, dental, and supportive services. The location also has a Youth and Family Space. The SNAHC Florin Road location will double SNAHC’s patient population in Sacramento County and serve as an additional location for the provision of quality healthcare for all. There are no tribal or ethnic requirements to receive services at SNAHC Florin Road.
