Sacramento, California – December 15, 2020– Sacramento Native American Health Center (SNAHC) received a $100,000 grant from the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation. This funding helped SNAHC continue to provide emergent COVID-19-related testing and referrals.
In addition, funding was used to support those areas of basic needs and “wraparound” care that patients may not be able to obtain from partner organizations at this time. For example, SNAHC recently utilized funding to provide soap, toothpaste/toothbrushes, socks, condoms, and other basic essentials and hygiene items that reinforce overall health and well-being. Furthermore, this funding ensured the continued staffing of our dental team who were unable to see patients during the shelter in place order in March 2020. This will buffer total financial loss and continue SNAHC’s essential dental care.
“This grant helped us sustain services and staffing, which will ensure our organization continues to be a strong community resource in post-COVID times,” says Britta Guerrero, SNAHC CEO. “We are thankful for the partnership we have with the Delta Dental Community Foundation and appreciate their continued support of our efforts.”
