Professional Interests / Specialties:
I am a registered nurse with a passion for serving underserved populations. I have worked in many settings, ranging from Skilled Nursing, Corrections, and Behavioral Health. I am particularly interested in behavioral health and the intersection of behavioral health and physical health.
Everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, regardless of their socioeconomic status or insurance status. I am committed to working with underserved populations to provide them with the care they need and deserve.
In my previous role, I worked with a large population of uninsured and underinsured patients. I saw firsthand the challenges that these patients faced in accessing healthcare. I also saw the impact that behavioral health issues had on their physical health.
It is important to understand the unique needs of patients and to tailor care accordingly. I am also committed to working with patients to overcome barriers to care, such as transportation and language.
Did you know doing 30 minutes or more of exercise a day for three to five days a week may significantly improve depression or anxiety symptoms?!
Spoken Languages:
English, Learning Portuguese and ASL
Boards and Affiliations:
Registered Nurse with the Board of California
Philosophy of Care:
I believe that the doctor of the future will be more of a health coach than a pill pusher. I will focus on educating my patients about the importance of diet, exercise, and stress management in preventing disease. I will also help them to identify and address the root causes of their health problems, rather than just treating the symptoms.
“The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patient in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.” This is the future of healthcare, and I am committed to helping make it a reality.
