Professional Interests / Specialties:
I have experience working with people of various ages – children, teens, and adults – as well as with a variety of psychological challenges such as depression, anxiety, grief/loss, intimate partner violence, sexual violence, trauma, and identity-affirming related issues. While I use a variety of evidence-based interventions in therapy to best meet the needs of each individual that I work with, my primary modalities are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. As a therapist, I’m especially passionate about working with teens and young adults, survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, and LGBTQIA+ individuals.
Boards and Affiliations:
Associate Clinical Social Worker from The California Board of Behavioral Sciences
Philosophy of Care:
I believe that therapy is a collaborative process that requires a trusting and authentic therapeutic relationship. I strive to always practice from a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive lens, and I view each person as a unique individual who is worthy of unconditional acceptance. Each person is the expert in their own lived experience. My role, as a therapist, is to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space where I can challenge and empower my clients to develop their self-awareness, create change in their lives, and find healing emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
What I love about working at SNAHC:
I strongly believe that every human being has the right to receive quality healthcare and comprehensive mental health services. I consider it an honor to be able to work at a health center that prioritizes breaking down barriers and providing holistic care to individuals and communities that have so frequently been mistreated and neglected by our healthcare system.
