Professional Interests / Specialties:

In my work I have engaged traditional approaches of psychotherapy and Indigenous epistemologies towards wellness. With a background in community art and cultural wellness, I will utilize art and cultural practices along with modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, and Solution Focus Therapy to develop practices with clients that are complimentary to their identity, culture, and values. My background includes working with youth and adults facing various economic and social disparities including Indigenous, Latine, LGBTQI+, Spanish speaking, and immigrant communities.

Spoken Languages:

English and Spanish

Boards and Affiliations:

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, The California Board of Behavioral Sciences

Philosophy of Care:

Implementing a path towards wellness includes trust, compassion, cultural humility, and engaging in a holistic view of the client’s world While meeting the client where they are at, we can begin the journey of looking at the root of their challenges, while also highlighting their own strengths and building strategies towards their goals. I believe each client is unique, and therefore each approach should complement their worldview, while developing practices and a new narrative of their history that is empowering.

What I love about working at SNAHC:

appreciate working with a professional, compassionate, and dedicated team, providing care for our community and region. I also love being part of an organization that highlights and engages Indigenous approaches to wellness.
